Position Overview
AMT Robotics is seeking a hands-on Shop Technician (CNC & Electrical Experience) to support our manufacturing and assembly operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC equipment and a solid understanding of electrical systems. This is a key role in building, assembling, and testing equipment that will be shipped to customers across North America.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CNC machines (setup, adjustments, basic programming).
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components of robotic equipment.
- Assist in wiring, panel building, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Perform quality checks to ensure components meet required specifications.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment in the shop.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to solve shop floor challenges.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a shop, manufacturing, or machine-building environment.
- Basic CNC machine operation knowledge (milling, routing, or similar).
- Familiarity with electrical wiring, circuits, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Forklift or overhead crane certification considered an asset.
