Shop Technician (CNC & Electrical Experience) - AMT Robotics (Oak Bluff, MB)

Position Overview

AMT Robotics is seeking a hands-on Shop Technician (CNC & Electrical Experience) to support our manufacturing and assembly operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC equipment and a solid understanding of electrical systems. This is a key role in building, assembling, and testing equipment that will be shipped to customers across North America.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC machines (setup, adjustments, basic programming).
• Assemble mechanical and electrical components of robotic equipment.
• Assist in wiring, panel building, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Perform quality checks to ensure components meet required specifications.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment in the shop.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to solve shop floor challenges.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a shop, manufacturing, or machine-building environment.
• Basic CNC machine operation knowledge (milling, routing, or similar).
• Familiarity with electrical wiring, circuits, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and safety.
• Forklift or overhead crane certification considered an asset.
