Information about Final Year University Funding Through Métis Employment & Training

Information for students in the final year of their first university degree

Métis Employment & Training (MET) may be able to provide financial support to eligible Red River Métis Citizens who are completing the final year of their first post-secondary degree.

MET funding is separate from the Manitoba Métis Federation's Post-Secondary Education Support Program (PSESP). Being unable to receive PSESP funding or being referred to MET does not automatically mean you are eligible for MET funding.

Who may be eligible?

Funding may be available to students who:

  • are Red River Métis Citizens (MMF Citizenship # is Required);
  • are in the final year of their first post-secondary degree;
  • meet MET's program and funding eligibility requirements; and
  • are enrolled in an eligible program of study.

Additional requirements may apply depending on your program and circumstances. Some out-of-province programs may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

MET and PSESP are separate programs with different funding requirements. If PSESP has reached its funding capacity, this does not automatically transfer or guarantee funding through MET.
