Celebrating Red River Métis Achievements Contest Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the Celebrating Red River Métis Achievements Contest (the "Contest"), proudly presented by the Métis Employment & Training Department (MET) of the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), herein referred to as "MMF-MET" . We are excited to celebrate and share the success stories of our Red River Métis Citizens. By participating in this Contest, you'll have the opportunity not only to inspire others but also to win awards for sharing your journey.

1. Photo/Content Release

By submitting your story and any accompanying photographs, videos, or other materials (collectively, the "Content") to the Contest, you grant MMF-MET an irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such Content in whole or in part, in any media now known or hereafter developed for any MMF-MET promotional, marketing, or educational purposes without further approval by or compensation to you.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and to authorize MMF-MET to use all intellectual property and other proprietary rights in and to any and all Content to enable inclusion and use of the Content in the manner contemplated by the Contest and these Terms and Conditions. All Content submitted by you remains your property. However, by submitting Content for the Contest, you grant MMF-MET a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, perpetual global license to use your Content as described under the Photo/Content Release section above.

2. Contest Rules

• Eligibility: The Contest is open only to Red River Métis Citizens supported by MMF-MET between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, through completion under the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) Agreement. Ineligible if currently enrolled in a multi-year program and still in the first year or if the program extends beyond March 31, 2024. For example, participants who are in the first year of a two-year program or those whose program end date is after March 31, 2024, are not eligible. Individuals receiving support before April 1, 2023, or after March 31, 2024, are not eligible to participate. MMF-MET reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to deem ineligible any participant who it suspects has violated these eligibility rules. Employees of MMF-MET and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
• Submission Period: The Contest begins on March 1, 2024, and ends on April 30, 2024. Entries submitted before or after the Submission Period will not be eligible.
• How to Enter: Participants must submit their success story and optional accompanying Content via the submission method specified by MMF-MET. All entries must include the participant's name, contact information, and a brief description of how MMF-MET supported their achievements.
• Prizes: Each eligible submission will receive an appreciation bonus of $250. Additionally, three (3) grand prize winners will be selected to receive $500 each. Winners will be randomly selected and awarded at the sole discretion of MMF-MET.
• Selection of Winners: Winners will be notified by email or phone. If a winner cannot be reached or is disqualified, MMF-MET reserves the right to select an alternate winner.
• Consent: By entering the Contest, participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, and success story in any publicity carried out by MMF-MET, without further notice or compensation.

3. Agreement to Terms and Conditions

By submitting your entry to the Contest, you acknowledge and agree that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. You affirm that your submission is your original work and that you have the right to submit the Content. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MMF-MET and its affiliates, officers, agents, employees, and partners from any claim, action, damage, loss, or expense arising from your submission or violation of these Terms and Conditions.
