What You'll Learn

• Workplace Safety - WHMIS, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platforms, Forklift Operation.
• Equipment & Operations - Rock scaling, hoisting, and core mining tasks.
• VR/AR Simulation - Practice in a state-of-the-art environment to build skill and safety.
• Mine Site Tours - Experience real mine settings and employer expectations.

Métis Employment & Training, in partnership with University College of the North (UCN), NORCAT, and the Mining Industry Human Resources Council (MiHR) is pleased to offer Mining Essentials, a work-readiness program tailored to Northern Manitoba's growing mining industry.

• Build work-readiness skills specific to mining
• Enhance employability and confidence in professional environments
• Develop competencies valued by mining employers

Eligibility

• Seeking entry-level employment in mining
• Available for full-time, in-person training in Flin Flon
• Meet workplace safety and readiness requirements
• An in-person interview in Flin Flon may be required
• Priority given to Red River Métis Citizens

Support is Available!

Eligible participants may qualify for up to four weeks of on-site student housing in Flin Flon, MB at no cost, and for financial assistance during training.
