3 Days Work + 2 Days Training/Week
Red River Métis Citizen currently employed at a licensed Manitoba Early Learning Centre
Interested in obtaining ECE Level II Certification
Minimum 18 months of childcare facility experience (2 years preferred)
Support from your current childcare facility to accommodate 2 days of training per week
Completed Grade 12 or equivalent (English 40S or 40G with at least 60% required)
Clear Child Abuse Registry check and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search completed within the last 6 months

Applications are submitted to Assiniboine Community College through the Métis Employment & Training department. MET has pre-filled program details on the required college forms to make the process as straightforward as possible.

Review the documents below, complete the required forms, and submit your package by April 27, 2026. There is no application fee for MET-sponsored participants.

Permission Waiver Form
Allows Assiniboine College to share your attendance, grades, and account information with MET. Pre-filled and valid until November 30, 2027.

Official High School Transcripts Required Must show English 40S or 40G with at least 60%. Unofficial transcripts are not accepted. Also include a copy for MET pre-screening.
Proof of Employment at an Early Learning Centre Required A letter on official Centre letterhead (or email with signature block) from your director or supervisor confirming your full name, start date, approved criminal record check, and that you are not listed on the Child Abuse Registry.
Official Post-Secondary Transcripts If Applicable Submit official transcripts from any post-secondary institution attended.
Emergency First Aid with CPR C Certificate If Applicable If you already hold a valid certificate, submit a copy showing the expiry date. Assiniboine College will provide this training for students who do not have it.
