Program Details
An 18-month Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma program, delivered in partnership with the Manitoba Métis Federation Early Learning & Child Care (ELCC) and Assiniboine College, equips Red River Métis Citizens with the knowledge and practical skills to deliver high-quality early learning and child care for young children.

How to Apply
Applications are submitted to Assiniboine College through the Métis Employment & Training (MET) Department.
Review the documents below, complete the required forms, and submit your package to the MET Department by August 3, 2026.

Permission Waiver Form
Allows Assiniboine College to share your attendance, grades, and account information with MET. Pre-filled and valid until February 28, 2028.

Criminal Record Check - Vulnerable Sector Required Submit the completed form or a receipt as proof of submission while waiting for the final document.
Child Abuse Registry Check Required Submit the completed form or a receipt as proof of submission while waiting for the final document.
Official High School Transcripts Required Must show English 40S or 40G with at least 60%. Unofficial transcripts are not accepted. Also include a copy for MET pre-screening.
Official Post-Secondary Transcripts If Applicable Submit official transcripts from any post-secondary institution attended.

Reach out to the MET team before beginning any coursework. Programs started without prior MET approval are not eligible for support.

Submit Your Application
Send your completed application, waiver, and all required documents to the MET Department by August 3, 2026.

Application Review & Enrollment
Additional documents may be requested if anything is missing upon review of your application. Successful applicants will receive an acceptance letter from Assiniboine College.
